I wouldn't read too much into it. It's probably just a case of the guy wants an LX and was trying to convince his wife but she wants something else so she just dismissed your, and all LX's, as ugly (not realizing that she was being tactless and may have offended you). Chicks

This reminds me of a guy in a 528i telling me that my car sucks. Guess what I did to him in my GS400 
I agree that the LX is the best looking SUV in it's class. Have always liked the LX 470 when it came out. If my family gets bigger, The LX will be at the top of my list.

I've been told both my cars are ugly........sadly this comment came from my mother 
She's a GM, Chysler kind of person, and currently drive a Dodge magnum, she said my car's are plain, and bland....

And then, after she gets in her car and starts driving away, when she rolls down her window to flick out her ciggerette BAM hit her right in the face with the spidey sling*
*Due to the NWS policy I can not offer an explanation as to what exactly the "Spidey Sling" is. I espcailly can't say its when you strike the spider man pose and fling man jam onto someones face. Oops! There I dun gone and said it!

When I was 19, I was cruising the Strip with a couple of buddies and a couple of girls in my lowrider Mazda B2200. A couple of girls pulled up beside me and one of them yelled out the window "My boyfriends truck looks better than yours.". Without missing a beat I yelled back "That's OK.
