but sad to say the pain has never really gone away!

I think my old 1999 Lexus LX470 is in the middle east right now, lol, no joke!

Thinking of getting a Black 2003+ LX470, modding it the same way but doing snow-camo, yes 1loudlx, I stole your idea, hahahaha

I've never had anyone say that my car is ugly. My friend did say however that people that drive light blue cars (it's actually Breakwater Blue) lack confidence. Meanwhile he drives a 10 year old Jeep. I'd rather lack confidence. I told him "at least when it rains I can roll up my windows"

 

How dare someone call my favorite SUV of all time the Lexus LX 470 ugly! During the high schools years I was made fun of that I drive a unattractive minivan and a 1988 Chevrolet Nova, but some of these people didn't even have cars, I was fortunate enough to have two well actually my parents cars.

Everything looks nice but that rain gutter periscope. wtf? Is that really part of the car? lol

 

Never to my face but I'm sure it's been said. I wouldn't really care that much if somebody did say it because everyone has their opinions and I don't drive what I drive because I care what people think or want to impress anyone... though I realize a lot of other people on this board in general do care a lot about the image their car gives them.

Though I guess I'd be kind of surprised at the fact that they were rude enough to say that knowingly to where I could hear it.

For what it's worth I don't see how anyone could call the 99 LX470 ugly or beautiful... it's really, especially 10-11 years later, just sort of generic looking, for better or worse. I guess it looks slightly disproportionate to me but that's something you can forgive in a vehicle of that age and with that much function/utility to it.

I see those vehicles of that age as a cool off road appliance to have, not a flashy vehicle. It's kinda like calling a Bronco ugly. Well, I don't see how anyone could think that but even if they do think that, who cares, it's not meant to be pretty in this day and age... it's meant to be badass.


edit: I just saw the picture with the lights up front... I can see how a woman might make a comment on that. It's a little bit extreme, especially for a Lexus. I wouldn't mind it at all, but you know how women can be.

 

it doesn't really matter what others thinks of your car. as long as its something you like, then thats all it matter. cause you the one that is driving it, not them.

 

I agree, it looks old and I like the new one a lot better.

That car on the photo doesn't deserve a Lexus badge. It should of been done to a Toyota LC. To me Lexus is all about good looks and comfort.

 

my friend's roommate told me that my 95 325i was ugly as hell. that was 10 years ago.

i wanted to punch his face.

 

I haven't had that experience. But I avoided cars Bangle messes too.

lol, park the SC next to an RX for better effect.

 

Have you ever been told told your car is ugly? In a round about way YES by an employee in reference to my 2004 Prius but I got 48MPG to his lucky 15MPG I now drive a RX400h at 25MPG now I sense a bit of jealousy.
