I’ve been kicking around the idea of doing a minor upgrade to my front brakes by going with slotted rotors, so I called the lexus dealer today to get quotes on the work and here’s what they told me:
Option 1: I will supply the front rotors & pads along with ss brake lines (for both front and rear), the dealer said max cost would be $333.
Option 2: Same as option 1 except delete the ss lines, cost $233
When you use a dealer, I know they charge more, but I’m wondering if they are nucking futs
with what they want considering their charge to do oem brakes is $285 and that includes turning the existing rotors.

I can see why they would charge more to do the lines cause they would have to drainall the fluid and put in new fluid and then bleed the system
But the 233 to just install the new stuff is rediculous
Try a local brake shop, there is nothing special about our braking system its very easy to work on.
