Default BTW, I WIN. i found the worst rebadge ever

Almost everymorning around 6:45 when i stop to get breakfast before work, i see this kid driving around in a Mitsu 3000gt with a cornyass bodykit huge wing, AND Ferrari Emblems on the hood, rear, and both side panells. I finally found him parked somewhere when i went out. So i had to stop and take pictures, it was night, and the flash sucked. You can see my car in the backround (if he was home he probably thought i was crazy)

I also continued to laugh for about an hour after taking the pics. What is wrong with people. i really don't understand. When ever i get upset, i look at these pictures and i smile

Maybe somebody told him it was a Ferrari GTO when he bought it, LOL.

BTW, the Ferrari GTO (1984) was pretty sweet, 3.5L V8TT, IIRC.

Was the chipped paint on the front air dam optional for that model year Ferrari?

The chipped section is an old racer weight reduction trick. He gets roughly 10 mph increase from that mod!

if this post would've come up a couple of days earlier i would have laughed and flame it but last night while helping a friend out his car, a couple of hot girls, friends of him came over and chilled.. about 20 min later a F360 passes by very slowly and they go and ask, was that a viper or a porsche?? but then I thought, not all girls are into cars like most guys are so they just dunno any better, and I have seen this trend of the hotter the dumber they are <about cars> with some exceptions.. so Im pretty sure that any of those mid 90's to 00's sports car <rx-7's, supras, fillin the blank...> in a nice shiny red color, debadged and nice rims, could trick some girls into think they are some sort of exotic or something .. probably that's what that guy is TRYING to pull off but that body kit...............

In my book, it's not a whole lot worse that Ariso, Soarer or Celsior emblems on new Lexus cars.

IMHO, same goes for Mercedes Mirrors and BMW Angel eyes..
Or people slapping Altezzas on BMWs and putting M kits and badges on non M cars......

Um no. Thats not bad at all. How is that bad, they are just badging to what the name of their car is in Japan. I dont see how you put that in the same discussion as this.

I suppose you are right with the Mercedes Mirrors and Angel eyes, but with badging the Soarers and Aristos, at least they are the equivalent (mostly) of the car in Japan. The 3000GT is not the equivalent of a Ferrari

From what has been posted here, there is a GS430, IS350 and LS430 in Japan, no Toyota cross branding.
Only the new ones (3GS, 2IS) starting August 2005. I think the LS430 is still a Toyota Celsior in Japan, until the redesigned one(LS460) comes out later this year. The facelifted SC430 is also a Lexus, no longer a soarer in Japan starting last August.
Theres nothing wrong with rebadging the 2GS, 1IS etc, they are Toyota's in Japan. All the new Lexus models coming out in future will be Lexus world wide .

Damn I miss my friend Manaray... he and I shared the same view on this topic...

I will agree with you here since you are talking about the newer models. Still, I am not really bothered that much by it.
