I have the BMW K-1200 RS all black of course. Best MOD I did was the remus carbon fiber pipes. Now the bike sounds like it should. When I bought it new and told them what I wanted to do they were like you are nuts. I said just do it. When I came back the head mecanic had ordered the same pipe for his bike

to be honest I have not been on my bmw k12rs much this year. First I have an sc430, so on a nice day you just drop the top. Second, Instead I was busy playing around with my smallest motorcycle (for your feet). www.bushpig.com

Stats are from BMW who also quotes about 160 HP.
Here are some other stats for the K1200s which has fairings but same engine from Motorcycle Consumer News Aug 2005. 0-60 3.17 sec, 1/4 mile 10.47 s, 60-0mph 121 feet, Go figure BMW still quotes 2.8 secs!
Cycle world says 2.9 secs and rate the S version against some of the bikes mentioned in this post.

Its a nice bike for sure. The BIG surprise is that its a BMW! Unebelievable that I'm comparing this BMW to some of those other legends...
Anyway took it to work again today. In the 30s here, and dry when I left, wet on the way back. Washed it off with the hose at home. I know some worry about salt, but I have got to ride whenever I can relatively safely Having a great time. Really, really glad to hear from the rest of you riders!

Huge amount of bang for the buck. Beautiful bike. Enjoy and be careful, man.
BTW, the picture of my bike at the front of the thread is not my picture , but shows my exact bike. It is taken from BMW web site. I was too lazy to take photo and post...

While straight line acceleration is fun... I'm all about the corners on a motorcycle.
Anyone in the New England area, feel free to check out one of my Track Days.
My website is: www.TonysTrackDays.com
SC430 content: I'm still waiting for mine...
Hope to be a 2002 White/Ecru owner soon.
