It's not the accuracy of these movies that really bothers me... if we eliminated all the movies that were inaccurate there'd be nothing left to watch on the big screen. After all... it is just a movie, really no point in taking it personally.

No, what really bothers me about this franchise (and it isn't even really the franchise's fault) is that every underage moron (and sometimes even overage morons) with a license suddenly thinks that they can do every million dollar stunt they see on screen. Normally I wouldn't have any problem with stupid people doing the world a favor and taking themselves out of the gene pool, but they almost always end up taking an innocent person with them.

I used to love visiting the mountains at night... not because I'm under the sick delusion that I'm Takumi, but just because nature really is quite comforting in the dark of night. Ever since prepubecent teenage boys in this country heard about drifting, though, it's become increasingly more difficult to enjoy nature's pyschiatrist without actually having to TRY to keep yourself from being killed by mom's "race" cars.

... now this movie is just going to make those once pleasant trips to the mountain that much more dangerous, both physically and legally. After a week in release I'm sure it'll be nearly impossible for anyone under the age of 50 driving a Japanese car to convince the local law enforcement that they are actually just out to enjoy the beauty that their tax dollars go to protect, and not to try to become "King Of The Mountain."

I'm desperately counting the days until the newest automotive craze sweeps the hordes of intellectually challenged, and I can finally go back to enjoying life the way it was meant to be.

... just my .02

despite everything that sucks about the movies, they did help bring tuning mainstream which im sure has helped all of us in some way mod our cars easier. Its true that the idiots following the movie like its real ruin it. This installment actuallly looks respectable, from the way the cars appear it may actually be a good movie if they can find some kind of real plot. But hey, i'll go to any movie with sick car racing and chases, even without a plot.

i know those aren't fake LD 1's on that GS?

but anyways because of the fast and the furious i think they made it easier to cop performance parts
since that movie came out you can get anything for anything now (meaning there is a wide variety of performance parts out)
when i first start to modd my 95 honda prelude vtec back in 99 it was hard to find a simple intake and on top of that i only had two companies to choose from AEM and ICEMAN. the prices on those i remember getting a quote for 350.00 on it. now these part are so cheap and plus more and more companines are out there marketing this stuff. look how far it came, to get a good part you would have to order out a car tunner magazine now, you can go to pep boys and to get parts. sooner or later places like ACME or super g's (local grocery stores) are going to supply shockes, springs, fuel rails, eggs, ham, and orange juice all for 245.39
