Read a print magazine article about the race series and apparently the Frances (of NASCAR fame) are the backers of this series. The ugliness of the cars are due to safety regulations and such.
Well at least Toyota is still playing in the circuit racing games in the US... but they pulled out of INDY so Honda is the only engine game in town is what I hear for that series...
I'm most curious about the GT2 series made for sedans. The IS350 will be going head to head with the BMW 3 series.... It should be a great series, but I think the IS can take them!
