Now I always liked this vans looks, probably one of the few vehicles from the Frenchies I'd own. The interior was so bad, yes, that interior you see is an improvment.
Its very different and original. Thing is the VQ cannot pull this thing, its slower than the Sienna AND Odyessy.
Overall, i like it.

looks better than the 2003-2006 version, but still a bit weird.
1SICKLEX, how bad is the VQ in pulling it compared to the 3MZ in the Sienna and the J35A series in the Odyssey?

Looks like a nice improvement to me. I always like the way it looked as well. Very different from the traditional minivan. But I guess consumers like traditional minivans.

Wow, I've seen school buses with nicer interiors than that 2005 one. The 2007 one is still a bit funky, but nice overall.
The side profile though is weird.

holy guacamole that is about 60 bajillion times better. I was okay with the old exterior, but the wacko interior with the center mounted cluster just isn't what the traditional minivan buyer is looking for. Hopefully sales will improve. The Quest's biggest problem is dismal reliability though. I think it's still ranked dead last in Consumer Report's minivan reliability predictions.
The VQ is perfectly "capable" of pulling the Quest just fine. Nissan seems to have it detuned probably for longevity though since the loads placed on minivans tend to be extremely brutal on drivetrains, especially transmissions. They're probably trying to cut down on tranny warranty claims by keeping the power down. I think the Sienna is currently the only minivan that has above average overall reliability based on CR data. Either way I don't really think that minivan buyers are all that concerned about performance anyways. Who cares? It's like our Highlander which has the 3.0 and 4AT. Yeah they have a 3.3 and 5AT now which is faster (and soon the 3.5 which will be waaay faster) but who cares? It's not the point of buying one of those.
