Thumbs down 2006 Chevrolet Kodiak

2006 Chevrolet Kodiak
The 2006 Kodiak prepared by Monroe Truck Equipment has a host of luxury appointments. An MTX sound system featuring a touch-pannel DVD based navigation system, upgraded speakers, and a stealth enclosed subwoofer and amp in the center console provide a great listening experience for passengers. The Duramax diesel engine and Allison automatic transmission provide plenty of low end grunt for all your towing and hauling needs. All this and more can be yours for a mere $70,000.
Looks like a copy of the International. Why does every freakin truck need a direct competitor.

I fear it's only a matter of days before I see one of these on the streets of Orange County with a 10ft lift, being driven by a 4'6" fake'n'bake 16yr old who slams on the brakes every time he comes up on a 1" dip in the road.

The doors look paper thin. The rest looks like it was born from disease.

It makes you wonder about the head of GM division, do they expect to make a profit on this vehicle????? (another gas guzzler )

One more reason GM is going down the tubes. I guess they weren't listening when Bush said to build more elevant vehicles.

that was scare, seeing someone making a school run in that THING and then reversing into a spot right next to me

I guess GM will never learn. Oh well.... Sucks for them when they sell 2 of them. One to Ashton Kutcher and the other to an Ashton Kutcher wanna-be.

Instead of that thing, a buyer might as well go all the way and just get a class 8 Peterbilt truck. At least he can make some extra money hauling freight on his days off.

I've seen a few of these among the "Snowbirds" or "Winter Texans" as the local Chamber would like us to call them, during their fall and spring migrations up from the Valley. Pulling a giant 5th wheel RV, they look like an ideal tow vehicle - plenty of power, braking, and stability for mom and pop to drag their house across the country. Lots of room - even for a few friends, and a good place to be in case of an accident. When you consider a similarly-optioned 1-ton pickup would sticker for about $45-50K, have less room and only a few of the custom appointments, not to mention a much shorter life expectancy, $70K probably isn't a bad price.

A friend has relatives that have been full timing for four or five years in one of these with a huge 5th wheel trailer on behind, living 12 months of the year on the road. They love it! Nice work if you can get it!
