Default Toyota Aurion

The new Australian launched Toyota Aurion, to replace the Avalon was unveiled at the Melbourne internatinal auto show. It looks pretty impressive.

However, I have yet to see any interior shots of this vehicle.

Anyone have pics or links?

thanks

I don't like it. It looks outdated IMO. Maybe it's a bad photo.

I can defitely see the family resemblance in that to the Camry that Taiwan gets.... does australia get the same Camry as them?

So this car... is it basically the US Avalon with a different face and butt?

I wonder why Toyota makes so many different models and/or varients for all the different world markets. In some cases it makes sense, in others it seems pointless. Why restyle an Avalon differently for different parts of the world. Wouldn't the American styled one be fine. It seems to just be a waste of resources (of course Toyota can afford it anyway).

The aurion is based on the camry. You can really see the resemblance from behind. The only thing i dont understand is that australia recvd the avalon in 2000 but it was a mildly restyled version of the 98 avalon. Weird.

That front end looks a lot like the US Avalon's... I think the Avalon would look super aggressive with those headlights on there.

It's because, and this used to be true more than it is now given that local markets are merging into a more universal, global one, the notion persists that each market has slightly different requirements, desires, preferences, and interests for products than other markets and thus a product must be marketed to meet the needs of that market or lose share to a company that is better tailoring products to meet the needs of that market.

In other words, Toyota thinks (for whatever reason) that they must differentiate the Camry for the Australian market and call it the Aurion. It was probably a Toyota-Australia marketing call.

Amzing how its considered a camry in one country (china) and a luxury vehicle in another (australia), judging from the interior pics
