Not that the Accord is not an excellent car.....it certainly is. It has been on Car and Driver's Ten Best list now ever since we gave up the horse and buggy....but it costs more than the Sonata and doesn't really give you much more.

BTW, I know John Davis and Pat Goss from Motorweek....John more so than Pat. John is a great guy to talk to about almost any kind of vehicle...I see him at car shows and take part in the talk shows. Pat is a good mechanic / technician and is extremely good with some types of auto repairs, especially in electronics and computer-related problems, but IMO he tends to overrate the domestic-nameplate cars in comparison to their Japanese-nameplate competition. His recommendation of 3 months / 3000 mile oil changes is correct for most drivers, but he also would have everybody spending a fortune on maintenance by power-flushing the transmission, power steering lines, radiator, brake lines, etc.....every 2 years /24,000 miles. That seems to me like overkill....and can cost a lot. Yes it will prolong the life of the components but you will spend a fortune doing it. Usually every 30,000 mile tranny fluid changes and 15,000-30,000 anti-freeze changes will do it....other fluids as needed.
Didn't mean to get sidetracked here on another topic, but anyhow these are the two main guys at Motorweek...a great TV road-test and vehicle-review show.

The Mustang, granted, has dynamite looks but the overall build quality and materials of a piece of cardboard.

Did the IS350 have the 17" wheels?
These people don't know what they are talking about!
"Oh well, we Lexus enthusiasts KNOW what the better car is. This has nothing to do with us being Lexus fans, but everything to do with OBJECTIVE numbers. Plus we also know that the VDIM system can largely be disabled, and that's the BIGGEST detriment to the IS350, if you look at the reviews."
Just kidding

MotorWeek tends to look for 'value' without regard to prestige, marketing, etc.

No surprise about the Infiniti M. It's not the first time it's been voted the best Luxury Sedan.
I don't know about the Solstice being the convertible.
And I'd have chosen the Prius over the Highlander Hybrid for the Eco Friendly award.
