That off-again/on-again super-Corvette is definitely on, according to General Motors performance cars chief Tom Wallace.
Wallace, who replaced recently retired Corvette chief engineer Dave Hill, tells AutoWeek the biggest challenge facing the so-called Blue Devil Corvette is figuring out how to get 600 hp to the ground in such a way that it can be handled by a driver with the money to buy the car.
Wallace said GM is considering requiring that Blue Devil—and even Z06—buyers attend a driver school as part of the price of admission.

Impressive for the price indeed though.

Yup, I've been following the development for a while. It's called the Blue Devil. They are thinking about requiring a driving school session before you're allow to purchase one because they will be very rare and they don't want morons buying them just to outdrive their limits and wrecking them.
Kinda like how Ferrari and Porsche do with some of their models.
It will be 600 horsepower, as said, and most likely lightened even further from the Z06.
Considering the C6 Z06 in completely stock form already posted the second fastest ever recorded track time for a stock production vehicle on Nurburgring (first fastest recorded by the nearly half million dollar Porsche Carrera GT) - I have to imagine this is going to be further fixing something that's far from broke - but in this case, that will be a good thing.
