no the guy walked up to the car opened the door got in and drove off. from start to finish 8 seconds, even the police are baffled

Working in Law Enforcement, it's been reported that at some dealerships they (service personnel on the take) make copies of the electronic keys when cars come in for service. Or there can be a master key for 1 make or model of vehicles. The chip is sort generic but it's only used by the dealerships or a master locksmith. But it's rare. It's a rfid chip in most keys that speaks to the vehicle computer. Sorta like in the old days when cellphones were on analog signal and someone with a receiver standing on a corner can get your cellphone ID. That's one way I have heard of but never experienced it.

i parked the car outside where i normally park my sc, on this day i took the IS to work, and when we checked the cctv it took him 8 seconds, from the point of opening the door to driving off, watch the video when i post it today

they can also create an copy of your aftermarket alarm key, unless it has extra warning such as Crime Guard alarms which warn you that extra keys have been added...

Probably a inside job for sure... SOmeone made another key and Bam the car was stolen.. I hope the Dealership will remburse you somehow... Its has to be a second key since all the keys and computer systems are different.. Good Luck and sorry about the bad news...
