Hardly any Manufacture made it's sales figuers for 05 or 06 so far. Car sales SUCK right now. I'm not aguring about Acura's, just explaing Acura's Nitch is not what some think. I'm a Lexus/Acura Guy all the way. I would say the points of Lexus at the Acura forum in the same way.

I agree completely. The wheels and fitment really diminish the RL's great lines.

CSX (in Canada, a sedan)
Well NSX, who knows.
CL - coupe luxury ?

RSX, R for rallye, racing, or ricer?
CSX, maybe C for civic, cute, CHEAP, or Canada

Sedans
TL, RL (makes sense)
then BLAM outta nowhere
TSX (and like above CSX)
TL - touring luxury?
RL - real luxury? and can't do SL?
TSX - maybe the 'X' means 'less luxurious' or sporty or something?

OK, I give up...

But I don't think they should bring back Legend at this point.

No reason they have to be alphabetically in order.

LS - luxury sedan
GS - maybe the G initially came out of respect for Giugaro - the designer of the first GS.

The IS came later and if it would be alphabetical in 'rank' then only FS was available and that just doesn't seem right.

LX - luxury 'cross'-purpose vehicle / SUV.
RX could possible have been EX to be more consistent.

Lexus just sold 302,000 cars, unheard of for a luxury brand 10 years ago. The GS, while everyone frets is underpowered, met their 36,000 a year sales goal. BMW and Benz also had solid years, even Acura sold more cars than ever. Infiniti met their 24,000 a year sales target for the M35/45

Domestic sales suck. Not car sales, and the luxury market is rolling like never before.

Please search under sales "title" in car chat and you will see every month we post monthly sales and for January of every year, you will see yearly sales.

Bah, I'm **** like that. Clearly Lexus doesn't have an issue, they could name it the new Lexus BS and it would be a success

The NSX is one of the only names that actually makes sense and mean something other than the Legend, Vigor, and Integra days. If you don't recall, the concept code name for the NSX was NS-X. This was for New Sportscar Experimental. Once production hit the "-" was dropped and it just became NSX.

The only others I know for certain is that RL stands for Road Luxury and, CL for Coupe Luxury, and TL for Touring Luxury. Remember, the TL was back in 1996 before it became the 04+ sporty TL we see today. As for RDX, MDX, TSX and CDX I have no clue.

Mike ( 1SICKLEX ) is too honest to sell cars. So is Liz ( AsianGirl )....maybe that's why she got out. ( So am I, for that matter ).

Those stats are provided to show consumers and stock holders what they want to see. Don't believe everything you read.

Guess the Gas Companies are rasing profits for a good reason to, based on the price index reports huh ?
