Wow a company that is known for being risk averse and conservative is one of the most admired companies in the world.

Toyota knows how to appeal to the masses - make a quality product that does not break (even if it is very boring - ofcourse that is a sweeping generalization - I personally don't think the Supra or GS400 are boring cars) and the masses will break down your doors asking for more!!!!

Now lets see Toyota innovate in the "soul" and "excitement" field a bit more and not just in hybrids.

Go Toyota! Toyota all the way.

I think Toyota can become much more and much bigger than GM ever was. I just hope that Toyota doesn't become arrogant and complacent. I remember that movie Minority Report starring Tom Cruise and in the future Lexus was a strong influence. Let's see what happens in the future.

Same here. Studied Kaizen and other Japanaese philosophies in business undergrad.

Their practices are second to none...its the reason why their manufacturing and other operations are so cost effective.

I think this is key. Toyota has been pretty good with being a step ahead of what consumers want: low costs, gas efficiency, technology, and reliability. The good thing is that Toyota knows where to put it appropriately: they give low costs to Scion, gas efficiency to Toyota, and technology to Lexus, with reliability across the board.
