Which Lexus will be the first classic?

Outside of the LFA, I don't think any of the modern day Lexus cars will be a collectible. The SC, while I would love it if they did, sadly probably never will. Even though the SC 5-speed was well loved, it had another life as a Toyota Soarer with much more options available, and very popular in Japan. If they are still around, first production line numbers of the first LS400 maybe.
The only way I see any Lexus becoming a collectible is if Lexus brings out a car totally monumental in the future, let's say, in guise as a revamped SC, that harks back to the original SC. Sort of how the 3 series popularity has been ratcheting up interest in the 2000cs. But again, this probably won't happen, if it ever does, for another decade or two.

The new upcoming GS-F.
Really, I get the feeling that it will own the competition (M5, RS6, E63 AMG) in ways that will shake the industry up.

Right now, it pretty much outhandles its competition (E-class, 5 series and even the A6, the A6 has better skidpad and slalom but worse on-road feel) so wouldn't it make sense that the hyper-GS would also outhandle the hyper-E class, hyper-5 series and hyper-A6?
So what I'm saying isn't too much of a stretch. Already, Lexus has a car that pretty much owns anything that Mercedes, BMW and Audi can come up with (the LFA). If even a third of the tech trickles down to the upcoming GSF, it's pretty much lights out for MB/BMW/Audi.

The RX-series actually began with the Toyota Harrier overseas as a 1997 model year, but it does have its place in automotive history given its range-starting Crossover status. So many vehicles emulated it in that class thereafter.

Thanks for the merger!
In retrospect, its hard to say what cars will be considered a classic or otherwise 20+years from now. As times change, so do taste. I do believe some Lexus models will be sought after due to being game changers such as the LS,LF-A, SC,and maybe the RX while others were a rarity like the ES250 and various 5speed models. I'm sure Ford and GM didn't know their sports cars would one day be collectors while they were designing them for the first time so who knows for sure but it is a interesting topic to have every so often because as models gain history and new ones join the party, peoples opinions change like the wind.

I'm just extrapolating from the GS350.

In a thread discussing possible iconic Lexus' of the PAST, you're imagining magical unicorns of the future
