Default Upcoming M3 and 911

I was just thinking, with the new M3 most likely being a V8 and having close to 400 hp how will Porsche and the 911 counter this? any rumors on a v8 911

They already did with the 997 Carrera and especially with the 997 TT and GT3.

I believe there have been rumors of a V8 option (X50 or something), but as of right now, its just a rumor. The TT kills the M3 in just about every aspect, hell it even puts in work against the Lambo and Ferrari.

I remember on the 996 the X50 was (i think) upgraded turbochargers so it would add some power. I think it was over $10,000 for that option though

not sure if it's fair to put the 997 tt together with the m3. i mean, 140k to 60k? plus the tt will completely destroy the m3

between the normal 997 (not even the s. that car is 100k) and m3, the 997 has a bit less power, but i am sure it's a lot more fun and it gives you even better road and handling feel than the m3

well I mean, he is asking for a V8 997. They currently don't make those. But agreed, I dont see the direct comparo either, but many like to compare the two. Even when we had that M3 vs.996 thread way back when (I think SICK was the OP).

The reason why i'm comparing is b/c the m3 and base 911 are comparable in performance.
