I still don't know what GM really wants to do as far as long-term future goals. The fact that they have to slice and dice plants and employees stems from past indecisiveness. They never got to the point of sitting down as a group as in Toyota and figuring things out and too much infighting over things. When I think GM, I cannot figure out anything that stands out really well that is a business positive for them (add Ford and Chrysler there). I know friends in all of the big three companies just mentioned down here and all they every talk about is meeting year-end goals and objectives, and when I asked what about long-term business objectives, they just laugh.
Ms. Queen, you and the rest of the management are the problem.

Does anybody have her E-mail address? She's not going to learn anything from just us talking among ourselves like this. We should be telling these things to her directly....although by now she has probably gotten a good reaming out ( or worse ) by her own boss at GM.

Defending CR is not very worthwhile if you are a gear head. Ignoring them isn't very profitable either. When will GM understand that they have lost lots of customers who would return to them assuming that 1) they offer vehicles that people want to buy (includes everything from build quality to price) and 2) they demonstrate for at least five years that they can move to the top of the reliability list and stay there. Listening to a past Corvette owner talk about looking at a new Z06 after selling his previous vette, which he just got totally fed up with and sold for a huge loss, because he understands he had the one year in the last decade that the General had some quality issues is ridiculous. Sooner or later Waggoner has to realize that he has a bunch of employees that are the problem, not the solution, and get that bankruptcy filing going. The only question is do they reorganize or liquidate? I could go either way. CR is a messenger of a deeper message that they just refuse to get. They do make improvements but this is 2006, not 1976. Wake up.
