if you are spending 20k on a car...
... would it be a 2jz supra or 2jz swapped sc300?
I been looking around and that seems to be the going price for either one. With all things remaining the same, which one would you pick and why?

That's a good shot for these aging cars and you'll likely have a fair amount of fixing to do in addition to any mods. I've desired a Supra since '82 and that would be my choice. Ths SC I think would be easier to find...it may not have had the abuse which makes that one more attractive.

the mkiv is 93 to 98 and the sc300 is um... 92 and up? around the same year so with all things remain equal, on an average, the condition should deterioate on an even scale.
Let me reword the question alittle bit: since both car has 2jz, both car cost around the same, both car are probably around the same year. Is there any reason to choose one over the other?
-the sc300 obviously bare the lexus name, I expect it to be cleaner and more comfortable
-the supra bare the toyota name but is considered to be a legend, I am under the impresison that brake and suspension might be slightly better, parts are cheaper and easier to find, higher resale value in accordance to kbb (did I just answer my own question?)

In most cases an SC300 would be a less risky buy, but either one, of course, would need a thorough inspection and CarFax check.
The SC, IMO is also a FAR better looking car....especially compared to the SC that replaced it.

and what is right price?
assuming that the cars I am looking car are not salvage, not over milaged (no more than 120k), I seen a few TT supra for around 18k~24k. The 2jz sc300 I Found on this forum is around that price too. Is that decent price?
