well some parts of china are still dirt poor so i guess maybe these rip off are for unfortunate part of society in china assuming they are cheap.... but one thing i do not get is why their logos must be so similar to the brands they rip off....

First, if they want to be recognize globally, they gotta change the name where people can pronounce/recognize easily...Jianghuai (JAC) good luck saying that. Do it like Cherry.
"Hey, have you heard of that Ji-ang-haui car?? That that is top of the line."

Hyundai does the same thing with their logo only that they tilted it 30 degrees instead of 180. Honda doesn't seems to mind or at least they couldn't do anything about it. Not a big deal.

From reading this thread it appears China and it's people are a monolithic entity. When Ford does something questionable, the focus is on Ford - not Americans. When BMW makes a dumb move, it's still BMW, not Germans. When Lexus screws up, it's still just Lexus, not the Japanese. But apparently when it's a Chinese company, it's China as a whole, and no less.

Oh and Lexus doesn't screw up I can only recall instances when Toyota made bland cars, and people say "Japanese people can't design attractive cars".
And with references to China, their whole country is ran in a way entirely differently from the rest of the world. Let's just say alot of their business practices have to do with their government and the concepts they feed the people with, hence the negative connotation.

does this stuff really surprise anyone. The chinese are notorious for copy right infringement . I have seen SUV's inmagazines that look exactly like the BMW X5, but wears a chinese brands badge. Shady and kind of ghetto imo

Even though the Chinese clearly used the Lexus symbol as inspiration, the symbol is a graphic "J" for Jianghuai (JAC). This is the inherent problem with using the first letter of your brand name as the symbol like Honda/Hyundai's "H".
There's bound to be similarities.
Plus, nobody can sue the Chinese since they have no laws against copyright infringement and their government doesn't care.
So could the Olympics organization sue Audi?
Anyone notice Lambo, Ferrari, Porsche, and Dodge all use a shield with a Bull/Horse on it.
These are just as close to each other as the Lexus/JAC logos.
