Ok... here's what a Canadian friend told me on another board:
i did this for my car... basically onces he pays you and u give him the ownership and contract of the agreed payment (u can type one up yourself)... its out or you hands ...
its best he ship it back because in order to drive it back u need insurance.. and he really cant get that since he really cant register it cause he doesnt live in states... but anyways he can just risk it and drive it back...
when he gets back to canada... this is the fun part.. and thats what i had to go through..
get it safetied emmissions just to make sure this american car meets cdn standards... so if the car has no day light running it needs to be installed etc..
than he has to pay for the border tax.. not sure the percentage cant remember.. and than he has to pay for the pst which is 8%.. and get his insurance and registration.. and than thats it.. he is done..
thats the brief of it all.. let him know while he is doing all this in canada he can still get insurance and put a 10 day permit so he can still drive around while all the paperwork is being done to register his car. hope that helps.

TheRupp's quote pretty much covers it. As the American seller all you need to do is sell it to him (as in, sign the owenership over and accept the cash), after that it's up to him to get it over the border. All Duty, GST, emmisions fees, provincial levies are his responsibilty.
