It takes about a week to order the part, so when you schedule the recall fix, give them a week to order the part.

And as for their assurance that your seatbelts would not fail, that's a bunch of crap. Why would Lexus have a recall if the seatbelts may not fail? Get it fixed before something does happen...

My dealer waited until the parts were in to schedule me, they picked my car up here at the Hospital, left me a loaner car, filled the gas tank and washed my car, and brought my car back. Pretty painless. And, much better service that I got with my BMW the three times that it had to go in for broken window regulators.

I wonder if they'll give some freebies for the inconvenience.

I received a letter from Lexus regarding the seat belt recall last week. I'll probably wait until I her in for her first service to get it done all at once. I'll probably have them change some of the personalized settings while they're at it.

I just got my IS 350 two weeks ago, should I goto the dealer to get my seatbelts fix? I didn't get any recall letter as of yet.

I just called my dealer and they said it was just for the 2006 models of these cars.

As of currently, the only IS models that are available are year 2006.

The recall is because the seatbelts lock and will not retract. Its not that they won't lock and keep you in your seat.
I just got the letter today and they scheduled me for the 30th.
