I'd go with the E36 M3 as well. $7500-24000 is quite a range in budget...haha I dont really like Honda's, but what about an ITR? B5 Audi A4 1.8T gets good milage too.

I had an ex-gf who had a Mazda3 with every option except leather and Nav. It's a really fun little car and quite nice for an "econo-box."
The only problem was that it was at the dealer for warranty work almost every other week. Of course... that could've just been that the car, too, realized that my ex was the re-incarnation of Satan, Hitler, and Stalin all rolled into one and was just desperately trying to kill itself before it was too late.

91-94 non turbo MR-2 for around $7K or less. It will still be fun as heck, but since it is a non turbo it will be reliable, and you probably wont get the urge to upgrade the turbos since there are none
Then, once you realize how fun it is to drive mid engine cars, you can sell the MR-2 and but an NSX ![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
PS. Did I mention that NSX's also make great daily drivers

mazda 3 for a daily driver! nice little fun car, good handling ... but without the higher maintenance and parts cost that might come with a used BMW that needs some replacement parts.

A good friend of mine has the Mazda 3 also. Fun car to drive indeed, although don't get the auto as they have the most anemic shifting slush boxes ever. His was a first year 3 and was at the dealer about every damn month. He traded it up for a newer MY and it has been trouble free.

mm.... its funny how some people have problematic Mazda 3s.
However, in my experience, I know 4 good friends who owns Mazda 3s, 2 of them which I recommended the car to them. And I've never seen them at the shop yet.
I guess its the power of statistics ... and bad luck..
