Awesome pics, props to the person on G35driver who took them. I can't wait to see this car in real life...

....And this is where the G35 has the IS350 beat:

I do wish the IS350 came with 2 bottles of Dasani water standard

That interior looks 10 times better than the current one.

Terrible looking wheels.

Looks like they are taking lessons from Lexus in that
department.

The car looks really really good in those pics. The wheels will take some getting used to, but i am very impressed overall. The interior looks really nice with the wood trim infiniti

More Details on Nissan's New 3.5L VQ Engine
In late July, Nissan confirmed its new VQ35HR engine — which will appear in the 2007 G35 sedan — had achieved an SAE certified rating of 306 horsepower. Today, the automaker released a few more details:

* 10% improvement in fuel efficiency
* Super Ultra-Low Emission rating
* Smooth transition to engine speed of 7,500 rpm
* Reduction of weight and friction through adoption of asymetrical piston skirt configuration
* Reduction of piston-side force through lengthening of con rod
* Addition of rudder frame, newly-designed cylinder block with significantly improved rigidity
* Adoption of perfectly symmetrical intake system
* Adoption of continuously variable valve timing control (CVTC) for intake side and electromagnetic valve timing control (e-VTC) for exhaust side
* Reduction of intake resistance through adoption of symmetrical twin intake system and straight intake port
* Adoption of isometric exhaust manifold and perfectly symmetrical exhaust system
* Reduction of friction through adoption of world's first hydrogen-free, diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating
* Adoption of catalyst substrate with ultra-low heat mass, super-ignition iridium spark plug and fast light-off O2 sensor control

this engine is going to be very potent when the tuners get at it. i'd have to imagine twin turbo setups will be the norm, and on low boost people will be making good power. the only negative here seems to be the higher compression, and the cost. TT setups are expensive... and at least with older VQs you need to build the engine for true reliability...

of course nissan themselves have a TT setup for this engine coming 9mths after this engine is out...

Hmmm, from the new batch of photos, the interior is just not doing it for me, the ergonomics just aren't there, and I'm honestly beginning to think they didn't stir the forumla enough. Just kind of boring/recycled.

A short article from the Toronto Star. Not much substance, but the author states that the 2007 G35 looks a lot better in natural surroundings than when he first saw it at the NYAS unveiling.

C&D Review of the G35 6MT is out.

0-60: 5.2s
1/4 mile: 13.9s at 103 mph

The Highs

"it hunkered down and dashed to 60 mph in 5.2s, covering the 1/4 mile at 13.9s at 103 mph. ... More impressive still, our G35 tester went to the track with fewer than 250 miles on the odo. That's like putting an Olympic sprinter in the starting blocks in his street clothes. What'll it do with a proper break-in? We look forward to finding out."

"The power feeds through a six-speed manual that's the personification of precise engagement--it makes the 3 series manual seem rubbery..."

"This honey can dance as fast as you can pedal, without a misstep and without punishing its partner in the ride department. ... It's a setup that delivers Bimmer-esque compliance, and if the 3-series still holds an edge in this area, the distinctions have become paper thin."

"Upgraded materials, a superb new Bose audio option, an attractive and highly legible new instrument package, nicely placed switches with an exceptionally positive operational feel, and a sporty steering wheel with hand-stitched leather all lend an upscale feel that wasn't really part of the first-generation G35."

The Lows

The grip of 0.87 g is "not impressive by the standards of this class."

"The brake pedal felt a little long and a tad squishy"

"We're not unanimously seduced by the aluminum interior trim--to some, at least, the optional straight-grain rosewood veneer might be preferable--and the front buckets aren't quite in the BMW league in lateral support."

Counterpoint

"Robin Warner: ... this new car is stunning. ... BMW's superbly balanced 3-series is still the benchmark dynamically, but the new G35 is much nicer to look at."

Mike Dushane: "The interior is still comprised of too many ill-fitting plastic pieces. On the highway, there's a lot of noise, and small pavement imprefections unsettle the ride."

"Mark Gillies: "The G35 also brings up another comparison, to wit: Why on earth would one buy a Lexus IS350? The Lexus isn't appreciably quicker, doesn't look as good, and is a fairly anodyne driving experience, whereas the G35 is a very soulful machine. The IS has a more beautifully wrought interior than the G35's (much improved) cabin, but that's about its only advantage."

The quote "Why on earth would one buy a Lexus IS350" is really funny. I cant wait to see the comparo between the IS350 and G35. So only 250 miles on the odometer. Even they want to see how the G35 will be after break in.
