Do you know any owners of a 2006 Civic Si and what their impressions are? A friend wants one but she doesn't know anyone who has one. She's read reviews but owner experience would be better.

Looks like a cool car.

my only impressions are what i've read in magazines (car and driver, road and track, motor trend) and they all LOVE the car. seems like it'd be a very good purchase IMO.

1) Ugly.
2) Inferior suspension compared to the good old Integras and Civics of the 90ies
3) Great engine stock, but it remains to be seen how it will react to mods.

K20 has already been proven on the RSX-S to be extremely responsive to mods. This cars a bargain for 20k with this engine and an LSD.

On a seperate note, a K24 TSX engine block with a K20 RSX-S head with bolt ons can make 230 whp easily

Is the EX close enough?............same car with a slightly de-tuned engine.

One of my neighbor's daughters bought a 2006 EX and loved it.....until she wrecked it and did 7K in damage.

I myself reviewed a 2006 EX here on CL. I thought it an excellent and extremely well-built small car except for road noise, jumpy low-RPM throttle-by-wire response, and the odd, ugly two-tier dash.

The Civic EX does not use the same K20 motor. It's a 1.8 no where near the same power or responsiveness.
