Default which econo-based hybrid would you buy for your daily driver?

I need a better MPG car...I can get a deal on a used 05 Insight or employee used 06 Prius.

Insight would still be almost $10K cheaper...

Definately a Prius. At least it looks like a car, not a cockroach.

A Prius all the way. The Prius has four doors and can fit more people and it looks a lot better than an Insight (the syling of these cars are subjective) but that's my opinion. I'm sure the next generation Prius will get better gas mileage, probably grow in size and just be a much more improvment than the last generation.

Toyota - Moving Forward
Lexus - The Passionate Pursuit of Perfection
Scion - True Pricing - No Negotiation

Prius hands down... that Insight is a rather ugly fellow.

I voted Prius but if you save $10K, I would seriously consider the Insight...

From the two choices I'd have to choose the Prius since both are ugly, but the Insight is just plain horrible looking. Otherwise I'd probably choose another hybrid like either the Civic Hybrid or Camry Hybrid even if I don't get the best hybrid fuel economy. But like some have already read, I'd probably wait a few years until the technology improves even more, and the prices become more attractive.

that was kind of my thinking with getting the Insight....save the $10k and I'd have no trouble dumping it to get the next gen Prius when it comes out.

[sorry for the typo in the poll title, I know its the GS450h]

Why is the Civic Hybrid not a choice?
I would take it over either the Prius or the Insight....for several reasons

I can't get any type of deal on one, gets less MPG.

I'm open to hear about your reasons for liking it though...

If you are looking for a car with better mileage then the Insight is a better car in that aspect.

EPA MPG rating (City/Highway) for 05 Insight is 60/66 and 06 Prius is 60/51.

However, I would not buy the Insight if it's your only car. But I would get the Insight AND a used Civic or Corolla with the 10K saving.

I have an 02 Tacoma Doublecab too (and a Lexus IS250 that I won't mention)

the Insight I can get a deal for is a CVT = 57/56mpg 05 $15k 13k miles (I don't think I'll have a problem getting that mielage since I can get 32mpg with the 250)

06 Prius, thru a friend...either a 6 month employee used Prius with about 6k miles for supposedly way under invoice or about $6K off sticker price (since its essentially a used car). Not sure about the tax credit yet, unknown if these are previously titled cars or not. I'll find out for sure tonite.....can also get new for slightly less than invoice.

I am confused as to where the 10K saving is coming from.
