I was dissappointed to find out that the IS didnt rev match when you downshift. Infiniti does it... Lexus should have had it too.

With every subsequent generation of automatic trannys claiming faster shifting and quicker response time by "miles" over the previous generation tranny, I would pretty much expect response and shift times to be negative by now, lol. Obviously a lot of this is probably a play on words or weird stats that the marketing boffins are able to cook up. BTW, rev-matched downshifting kills fuel economy too. Getting an engine to go from just over idle to 5000 rpm very quickly requires an enormous amount of fuel. Maybe it's easier on the tranny, but it's costing you elsewhere (at the pump) to make that happen.

I love it. I dont care about fuel consumption! I rather have it rev match than strain the transmission and feel that "jerk" as it engages. If I did I would have bought a Corolla or Matrix or Yaris or Prius or somthing.

What is scary is that all of these functions are so, so electronic. I am sure it is a vast improvement over standard automatic but you still lack control as the car's brain is determining what is best for you rather than the driver.
BTW, someone earlier posted that the 335's torque will destroy this transmission. Um, on what facts is that statement based?
