I used Jiffy Lube all the time...long ago..before I bought the GS. Anyway, I never had a problem. Levels always were correct, I'd check after I drove home. I like the drive-through ones that I could drive my car in and out so no grease or oil would get in the car cabin. But after an incident in Peabody MA where some kid, that acted like he was on crack, sprayed engine coolant all over my engine and himself...look like he didn't have a clue what he was doing. Since then I've never gone back.

It is May sweeps month again, so to get ratings, KNBC4 TV Los Angeles has revisited this issue, with the latest chapter to air Tuesday, May 8th at 11pm. No doubt it will be avaialable online for those that can't see it live.
According to the teaser ads, it looks like Jiffy was caught again (can't be positive since they didn't show the brand). If they are, this is getting ridiculous- they keep on doing this, keep on getting caught/exposed, and yet keep on doing it because, well, they can because the regulators won't shut them down and the customers keep coming.
I was gonna call them aloof/callous/arrogant, but like I said, if the regulators won't shut them down and the customers keep coming, it is actually just good ol' revenue maximization- maybe I should stop complaining and just buy some stock!

Out of the over thousand (yes thousand) of shops that I have dealt with in my profession, I could only recommend and trust a handful. Seen folks from Perfect Auto buy a belt for $15.00 and sell it for $85.00+installation to an older lady.
Seen another claim to have installed a water pump only to clean up the existing pump and then apply blue silicone to the outside of the pump to give the appearance that a new pump was installed. It goes on and on.

Because of the Griffith Park fires last week, that hidden-camera segment did not air until tonight. You can see it at:
http://www.knbc.com/news/13277688/detail.html
...although that link may change as time goes on. If so, try NBC4.TV and navigate to the story.
The Reader's Digest version: hidden-camera car got unneeded services at So Cal EZ Lubes 6 out of 10 times over past 3 months.
And this comes just 6 months after being busted by the CAL bureau of auto repair (how toothless must those guys be?).

5 years ago I used to bring my Q45 to the Infinity dealership. They would always send me a coupon - $21 for the oil change. I would drop it off at lunch time and pick it up after work. They would give me a loaner and they would wash the car. These days you can't even buy a "thank you" for $21.
Then I changed jobs and wasn't working near the dealership anymore, so I had to explore other avenues. I stayed away from Jiffy Lube since I saw a guy on the side of the road with a board on his chest, much like Bruce Willis in the beginning of "Die Hard 3". Only it said "Jiffy Lube forgot to put oil in my car". So I took it to "Valvoline". These guys didn't forget to put oil in my car. They didn't know how much oil the car needed. I took the car to the dealer next morning thinking it was dying. The enging was sputtering and shaking violently. At the dealership they said the car had an extra quart or so of oil in the engine. I paid again for a proper oil change and tried to return my money with "Valvoline". After countless hours of confronting managers of all kinds I finally got a free coupon for another oil change at "Valvoline". Kind of ironic, isn't it? I actually used the coupon on a different car.
But what really killed my car was a transmission flush at EZLube. Maybe the tranny was ready to go, maybe not, but after that flush the reverse gear wouldn't work. It still drives forward beautifully, though
