Thinking of selling the ZX-2
Well CL, with money getting tighter, and my insuarnce not going down any time soon (due to my heave *** foot), im thinking it might be time to sell the ZX-2. Its not expensive to keep, 89 a month...but the insurance is KILLING me...it went up again, $2765 for 6 MONTHS! and for no reason at all, other than USAA doesnt like me lol. Gieco says they can insure me for $1427 so im switching, but its still killin me. i dont really need it, the only thing its good for is me getting tickets. and spending money...im thinking ill get an old beater camry or something like that, reliable but already beaten to hell so i dont have to care about rust.
How much you think i should ask? the mod list is fairly extensive, and its BB is around $6700.

DAMN!! Thats a lot for insurance.
Roll around in the Matrix for awhile. Make sure your next car has 4 doors too. Should help with insurance costs a little bit.

that's really expensive. I think you should shop around for insurance instead of selling your car first. I pay 145$ a month. (21 male/IS350) I used to have RSX and it was cheaper.

the problem is not with ur car
its with ur insurance and licensing/ticket record
id keep the car because escorts are great
not to mention that Z tech engine in the ZX2
i had a 98 escort wagon
one of the most reliable american cars ever
also its good on gas and is peppy
good power/weight ratio
also my escort didnt have ABS which fit me just fine
id switch the insurance company
also look up and compare who has the lowest quote
AIG, Geico, e-surance, bluh bluh
even with a camry, insurance wouldnt be much cheaper would it?

Actually, i did shop around, and while still expensive (2 tickets and an accident on my record) Geico offered me $1647 for 6 months. I took that and we will see how this goes. It should drop the next time around for the renewal.
My escort has a Zetec yes, and its not stock...lol...far from it.
My liscense/ticket record? I have one ticket and one accident (accident was almost three years ago now, when i wrecked my contour.). The accident with the lexus is not on my record, i was never ticketed for it and the claim went on my dads insurance.
I agree, the escort is great, relaible transportation, its also one of the fastest things in this area (not much here).
Mods are:

That's a lot of insurance for cars I thought would be way less, what part of NY are you in, for those that don't know in certain parts of the 5 boroughs with a clean record you can easily pay 5-10k a year for insurance my friends Expedition was 8 grand a year in Queens so they kept it registered in Virginia

Im in upstate, Jefferson County NY. (Watertown NY)
Yeah shes a crazy escort all right. Runnin around 200-220 FWHP, if i could ever find a way to get a supercharger that added more than 30 HP i'd be good. The head has already been rebuilt with all titanuim components and urethane seals. the .022mm Steel Headgasket brings the Compression ratio from 9.5:1 to 11:1. i might go a .012MM headgasket the next time, for higher compression (13:1) but im afraid i'll blow the engine.
The higher compression ratio and the ported and polished head is where most of the power comes from.
hoping to run around a 12.5 in the quarter if i can ever get to a dragstrip.
But yeah, i gots plenty of pix, pm me and ill send some.

They didn't give you a discount for being married? That usually helps.
Don't know your coverage, maybe you can lower that also?
And that's about $5500/year?????????????????????
Like what everyone said, see if they can a run # for let's say...a camry. See if that makes a difference before changing car. Wait hold on....how much are you paying for the matrix?
That's outrageous Josh!
Can you drive the tank in the meanwhile?
Don't you have access to a helicopter?
