Post Vote, which gauges are better? 3GS or 2IS?

I really like the extra Is details without it being distracting. The GS gauges are much more plain (too plain?) for a more expensive car but the titanium look when they are off= priceless.

Not sure which one I like more. You?

2IS, the other reminds of of a Honduh.

I like the 2IS but it'll take time to get use to the speedometer being on the left.

GS looks better...IS looks a little too ricey for me.

Angry Personally........

I could care less. My '02 SC has those old school non-electroluminicent gauges. So I spread hate to all you other Lexus owners who have the cool modern True Lexus gauges.

The backlit warning lights on the 2IS's gauges are excellent

I don't mind looking at the GS's gauges any. I personally hate my ES300's white gauges with orange needles (actually looking to change those out to white). I think it's very clean looking and unique, but I do notice very few times that the titanium can get some weird reflections on it with the sunroof open.

Definitely the 3GS gauges, but I'm so biased when it comes to the 3GS that it's not even funny.

Having driven and reviewed both cars, I would say the IS....its two central gauges IMO are larger, done in finer detail, and easier to read at a quick glance. In addition, the GS has a packaging problem the IS doesn't have....the power-mirror controls are housed inside a little flip-down box under the left front air-vent that, when open, has a tendency to uncomfortably hit your left knee.

One area where the gauges on BOTH cars need improvement......instead of the speedometer being in 20 MPH increments like 20, 40, 60, etc...... it should be 10-MPH increments instead..........10, 20, 30, 40, etc......
That, IMO would make it them even easier to read at a quick glance.

The IS has the nice rev limiter lights, and the cool needle effects. The downside is that the numbers curve around with the arch. Not a fan of that. The GS has that cool machine finish with the auto adjusting glass. But at times, looks kind of plain. All in all, I like them both. They are both unique in their own way.

Oh, MMarshall, I personally do not agree that increments of 10 is better for quick glances. IMO I think its worse because the guages become way to cluttered with numbers and would basically be on top of eachother. I like the way it is now for quick glances. If I see that the needle is between the 40 and 60, I add/subtract 10.

Both look nice. Actually, the new ES guages are really nice as well.
