It's rather simple, really. The owner of that car has personality and a sense of humor...which is far more than I can say for most of you.
Oh, and the Continental GT is a very low profile exotic (if it can even be called exotic). The styling is not particularly aggressive or unique, and virtually everybody who buys them chooses mundane colors - the Conti GT is easily lost in the sea of S-classes and 6 series cars found around my area. I strongly doubt that a Conti buyer is looking for "attention."

I love how these threads get everyone worked up.....this is ALMOST the 745li Honda Accord. ALMOST!
No, I never said that it was an age thing. I'm not sure what age has to do with it. I said the people who buy the car buy it for the attention or the name....whether they be 25 or 65. OK...it has a little power and is a little bigger (and it is not bigger than the CL, the CL is almost as big as the S Class), but so is a M6....so what is the justification for spending $180k on a GT versus $100k on a M6? The name.

Because not all the people who buy the car are rich 20 somethings. Half of the people I see driving GT's around are at least 65-70 and probably bought the car because it is a beautiful coupe with quite a bit of power behind it. As for not being the biggest or fastest... its pretty big, and pretty fast, .2 seconds faster in the quarter then a ferrari 360 and bigger then the current CL's, and its pretty reliable. Think of it as a VW Phaeton with twin-turbos. I'd go into depth more but if you honestly think that the only people that buy them are 20-somethings looking for attention then any elaboration I attempt will simply be dismissed on the grounds of confusion.

I think the guy did it as a joke just so he can browse message boards and look at the post about his car. Then he can laugh about how people interpret his car and the arguments it causes.

I also think that he is the owner of the dealership and wants to get attention for his dealership. I dont like Hyundai designs but as others have stated for the price most are very good cars
