You arent the only one thats why well really be disapointed if they cancel it this year. After the sales theyve had there should be enough in the budget for an event this year.

The dates are different every year, they are never at the same times. The first Lexus ride & drive event i've ever been to was in 2001 at the former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station, the same place AMCI holds it for Orange County area attendees every year. This was a very small unpublished event (i wish they were still invite only due to the overcrowding) where they introduced the IS300 Sport Cross and the 2002 ES300. These were the times when Lexus did their suprise unveiling of the car before media publications touched it.

These were the good 'ol days:

Thanks for the pics looks like that 2001 event was nice i guess thats the only year they had the IS300 Sportcross available to drive. But i doesnt look like the full lineup was there was it. Did they have a nice food setup.

This was strictly a 2002 ES preview with competitor vehicles available to drive. They did one back in 2000 for the IS300. 1999 was the first ever Taste of Lexus Event. Lexus brought out the 02 Sportcross to unveil and show potential buyers it's cabability and utility. It is only most recent Lexus offered the ride and drive of all their vehicles, Taste of Luxury 04 and Taste of Lexus 05. Food setup was actually great, they fed actual meals, not sandwiches or hors d'oevres. Each year that each event grows, the food choices and free giveaways get reduced.

I remember hearing about the IS300 Performance tour one of my brothers friends went to it and had a great time. He came back saying alot of good things like he wished he wouldve waited for the IS300 instead of buying his beemer.

Different twist!! Oh I'm so interested in this.

probably something to do with hybrids since there so in demand. a few months ago you could walk up and buy a RX400h, now they don't sit on lots very long.

Looking forward to this.
One wish is that we'd get to use more of the available pavement at El Toro...

More competitors would be like 2004 Taste of Luxury, where each Lexus car had at least 2 competitors to compare with.

I hope the LS 460 will be there, for some reason I have a hunch the twist might involve LS/ES...or something to do with hybrid...
