Get it loaded with the popular options and you are probably about 65 - 66K. To me, the car is about 50 hp shy at the very least. It is practically a detuned car, and most people who will pay upwards of 70K will not mind spending another few grand for a base 911.

62k is still too much for that 2/3rds 911.

I'd pay 45G's for one in a heartbeat. I went shopping for one and left the dealer unimpressed. At the end of the day you are paying more for a coupe over a boxter, the options add up super quick and bring the price so close to the 911 that you're better off just going with the cars big brother. At the end of the day this car as a light weight track car with decent power and a mid 40's sticker price would be all over the place. At 65-70k they'll sit on the dealers lot quite a while.

That is kind of surprising after the reviews I have read. Many reviewers said it's a more fun drive than a 911! Personally, I love the styling of it, I think it looks nicer than a 911.

I agree. With the exception of the side profile, I like the Cayman more than the 997

i start to see more cayman on the road. seriously, it's probably personal, but i don't care about its performance coz' i dont' think it looks good at all. the "lengthen" rear end of the car makes the car looks pretty weird imho.

but boy, it does seems like a bargain comparing to the hot selling 911

cayman S is such a nice car
but it really is a bit overpriced right now

if anyone is interested in getting one, i recommend waiting a couple of years when used ones hit the market

yea 2 seater cars dont exactly sell well on the used car market, usually these types of vehicles are prefered to buy brand spankin new, same reasons S2000s can be picked up cheap

That's why I think the side profile of the Cayman is not too attractive. The roof line doesn't flow too smoothly with the rest of the car.
But looking straight on the front & the rear of the Cayman, I like it better than the 997, the 997 looks too played out from those angles, the Cayman look is more refreshing.

Porsche was really dumb making this car more expensive than the already expensive Boxster. What they should have done was priced it lower than the Boxster like all coupes usually are, and then this car would have sold like hotcakes. Can you imagine? It would sell UNBELIEVEABLY well.

indeed, good point there about boxster as well. i always think it's overpriced and it's a bit "porsche wannabe" to me. i guess with the price range it has porsche is forced to price the cayman this way
