Auto-expert of Germany, a high-end automotive specialty engineering firm, decided to use Europe's largest Porsche gathering for the unveiling of its long awaited promise: the PORSCHE 996 Flat Nose. The event host, Porsche Freunden Rhein Wesel, was proud that auto-expert accepted their invitation and produced a stage exclusively for this presentation.
1642 registered Porsche vehicles and many more Porsche enthusiasts and fans surrounded the awaiting spectacle, under sunny skies and amongst great friends.
At 11:00 a.m., the program called for the highlight of the day, the unveiling of the PORSCHE 996 Flat Nose. Finished in an exclusive Chrome-Lacquer silver, which in itself was stunning, this new vehicle was focus point of countless discussions and philosophical questions, answered by auto-expert owner, Hartmut Knapp. How, after thirty years, the idea of a new Flat Nose was turned into modern reality, was leading many discussions, and received great praise.
In addition to the many Porsche drivers and fans, print and TV media also showed great interest on this never before seen customs creation, with its very unique and effective color design.
Auto-expert revealed that it plans to put the body parts into production before the end of this year.
The 5th International Porsche Treffen at the Trabrennbahn Dinslaken, Germany, was the perfect venue for the unveiling of the PORSCHE 996 Flat Nose by auto-expert.

This thing is ugly compared to the previous sexy 911 flatnose I've seen in the past

Back in the day, the slant-nose was the bomb. AIR had a fiberglass conversion kit, lots of guys were updating 70s 911 to look like 'modern' (at the time) 80s Porsches.
I think this one is giving me a Miami Vice flashback. Not sure it really works for me on the 996 platform.
Interesting Alsa 'chrome' paint. My pal Nick has this on his MR2 turbo... interesting stuff.
The wheel choice on this 996 is pretty awful... looks like they were ordered out of a catalog.
They sort of complete the 80s look, I suppose.
I've always said that wheels can make or break a car. This one is broken.

I was totally excited when I saw the title of the thread. The slant nose Porsches have always
been some of the best looking cars to me.
This one is ugly. If they were going through all that trouble, they
should have made the headlights pop up. Common' guys.

I hate anything that add fog lights like that, look cheap and ricey.
