BTW, BMW is more than likely targeting Saab and Volvo more than anyone, Acura for a small sub entry level luxury brand in AMerica only, BMW could care less to be honest.
A loaded 330 costs as much as their most expensive car

The ES is a front wheel drive car and it's a great car.

Sounds kinda hypocritical when the Mini made by BMW is a front wheel drive car. I'm sure it's all in good fun and I'm a good sport and usually don't get offended very easily. It is a humoruous ad...

I was thinking it was a jab at the TL to be honest. That may be the most direct
FWD competitor to the 3 series.

IMHO Saab is much more inconsequential than Acura and Volvo has
lost a LOT of its luster in the last few years.

The TL is nowhere close to a true 3 series competitor. Accord based, FWD, and as big as the 5 in exterior dimensions and made soley for the American market, in America. BMW doesn't even know it exists. Looking at the amount of tools putting staggered wheels and 20s on this car, they will tell you its S65 competiton.

The ES is not chasing BMW and is not acting like a Sports Sedan, it knows better

I never said it was good but I think people do cross shop those
cars.

I'd take an ES over the TL anyday.

While I won't argue the point that a TL isn't a true 3 series competitor, since I totally agree with your point-of-view, I do believe Acura and its TL is partly in BMW's cross-hairs with this ad. Isn't the TL selling very well? I thought I read somewhere that it was the highest selling "performance" luxury sedan for a while. I'm sure BMW is targeting sport sedan customers who are cross-shopping the TL with the 3.

Personally I like the ad. It's witty, communicates its message well, and is targeted at auto enthusiasts.

I think its BMW really just being BMW, I am sure the TL is no where on their quartely reviews

Case, the TL is selling well, even as its aged, but the 3 sold TWICE as much in May just in America. Again, the TL is not sold in Europe, why would BMW be concered?

Yes, there are a few people that cross shopped the TL and the 3, they didn't buy the TL b/c it was the better driving car or better car or , they bought it for "value" being loaded and space.

Sick: I'm shocked, you of all people would know that current Quattro (Torsen) based awd system on the Audi's are 50/50 no biased to either front or rear. Only the Haldex based awd system found on the tranversely mounted TT had a front drive biased system.

The lastest gen as you mentioned on the RS4 and newer releases will have more of a 40/60 biased towards the rear.
