The ES is a front wheel drive car and it's a great car.
Sounds kinda hypocritical when the Mini made by BMW is a front wheel drive car. I'm sure it's all in good fun and I'm a good sport and usually don't get offended very easily. It is a humoruous ad...

FWD competitor to the 3 series.
IMHO Saab is much more inconsequential than Acura and Volvo has
lost a LOT of its luster in the last few years.

I'd take an ES over the TL anyday.

Personally I like the ad. It's witty, communicates its message well, and is targeted at auto enthusiasts.

I'm sure BMW is targeting sport sedan customers who are cross-shopping the TL with the 3.

Case, the TL is selling well, even as its aged, but the 3 sold TWICE as much in May just in America. Again, the TL is not sold in Europe, why would BMW be concered?
Yes, there are a few people that cross shopped the TL and the 3, they didn't buy the TL b/c it was the better driving car or better car or , they bought it for "value" being loaded and space.

The lastest gen as you mentioned on the RS4 and newer releases will have more of a 40/60 biased towards the rear.
