Acura has very nice interiors, but I don't think they are Lexus nice. I was sold on the interior of the RL even though it seems cluttered to me ( the interior of the GS is very clean and sleek looking ). The exterior of the RL is what I had a problem with. The exterior is very bland, but looks better with the A-Spec package. I thought about this and I came to the conclusion that I don't want a car that doesn't appeal to me looks-wise in the stock form. I don’t want to and shouldn’t have to add stuff to my car for me to think it’s good looking. I love the exterior of the GS and I feel the same way about the interior ( though I think it should have accents around the gauge cluster like the RL ). I think the GS would make me happier overall. I'd enjoy owning the GS a lot more and I think that's worth the extra money. I'm only 23 years old and the GS is just more appealing to me. The RL is lacking the aggressive styling that I want ( maybe it's just my age talking ). The RL is a nice car, but I think the GS is better for me considering my age and what I want in my car.

I think some of you are getting old and need to take your medicine. Are we looking at the same cars?

I'm sure the RL will have an engine update soon. Since the MDX will get the power treatment, no surprise if the RL gets the same, if not more.

My cousin has got an RL and my thoughts on it is this...

Inside is definatly very very nice, the wood trim is among the best i've seen in any car, however, the GS interior isn't bad either. I wouldn't put either one over the other, they're simply different. I personally don't think the RL has much presence at all when looked at from the outside. The car is only a couple years old and IMO already looks quite outdated, especailly when viewed from the front. The back of the car isn't bad, but the front IMO is down right ugly.

The main thing I dislike, as well as my cousin dislikes about the RL is it's performance. The 3.5 in the RL is simply too under powered for a car like that. If an M35 can outperform it, the GS350 most definatly will.

Technology wise, the RL has it all, and just about everything on that car is standard. About the only options you have is wheel size IIRC.

If it was me, i'd go for the GS350

The GS350 on sale in Japan right now has AWD as an option, so I don't see why we won't have the GS350 AWD to replace the GS300 AWD here.
As for the VDIM kill switch, neither the GS300 nor the GS350 in Japan have the VDIM.
