Ultima has smashed its own world record for the 0-100-0mph dash for the third consecutive year, using the road-legal 200mph Ultima GTR supercar.

The GTR set a new record time: 9.4 seconda for the 0-100mph-0 sprint. The GTR sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 2.6, 0-100 mph in 5.3 seconds and then back to 0 in 3.6 seconds, all this times beeing world record times.

Recently the Ultima GTR got the 720 hp Chevrolet V8 engine. Now the Ultima is known as the GTR720, a fully road legal road-tyred and equipped with a standard 5 speed G50 transmission and a standard production engine option from Ultima’s official OE engine suppliers American Speed. No traction control devices or ABS braking aids were used.

Veyron does have the kind of power to accelerate. It makes the McLaren look like a toy. Though I do question the stopping ability vs. other supercars. The Veyron does weigh 4,300lb. We'll have to see if Bugatti is willing to test it.
