MT Comparo: 1) Fit, 2) Versa, 3) Yaris
August MT Comparo (0-60):
1) Honda Fit Sport auto (11.9s)
Crisp, responsive steering, excellent handling, plus an unbeatable interior package. This one's the driver's car, and it can tackle day to day hauling duty, too.
2) Nissan Versa SL CVT (9.7s)
Unusual Euro styling plus high admission price were too much to earn it the gold, but it's fun to drive, and quick.
3) Toyota Yaris auto (10.4s)
Toyota quality is present here. But the behind-the-wheel experience is forgettable. Enthusiasts need a car they like to drive, even if it's only to and from the office.

yeah, isnt Yaris lighter, safer and gets better mpg? It is also an sedan.
It is also an 1.5 seconds faster than Fit 0-60... lol.
Its just damn funny, 0-60 in 12 secs, but hey, it has paddles!!!
And Yaris will continue to outsell the fit...

As for a daily beater for work, can you really get sporty in bumper-to-bumper traffic?
C'mon MT -- stop focusing on the sport and start focusing on the car as a whole...

I'm going to try to hunt down a Nissan Versa tomorrow and see if I can test-drive one. Preferably the SL with the CVT. I've been looking for a daily-commuter. I've had my 2IS since late November and I already have 14Kmi's on it from commuting.
Cheers,
Kermee
EDIT: Been trying to track down a Honda Fit too as a possible daily commuter but two local dealers said all allocations have been "spoken for" (Read: $500 refundable deposits put down) until late August/early September. Which basically means in order for me to get one soon, I either need some old grandparents who don't want it after checking it out or some teen who doesn't want a 16.5% APR loan.
Cheers,
Kermee
