It looks small to be the US Corolla, maybe Japan or European version

I'm not saying that it should look like a bigger Yaris, but design cues from the new Camry and Yaris, and even the Rav4 and FJ Cruiser, show a lot of curves and bulbous shapes to the body.

I don't want to say "bloated" or "inflated," but there are hardly any sharp lines with the new cars, and those pics of the Corolla above are very linear. It is too geriatric and different from the new Toyota designs.

These are NOT official pics, they are chops, simple as that. The main clue to this should be the lack of Toyota's "vibrant clarity" design language in the car.

Huh? No sharp lines? Have you seen a new Camry lately?

The new Camry does have some sporty lines and angles. However, the car is still very curvateous in design. Not as much as the Solara or Yaris, but rounded nonetheless.

You can draw a straight line and a couple of sharp angles on an egg -- it's still round...

These Corolla pics do not have such a design "platform." These pics are foreign to the Toyota line.

In comparison, look at Cadillacs and Fords: they make really sharp and angular cars.

That looks like a Hyundai to me. If it really is the new Corolla, it'd be a step backward. The new Civic design may be polarizing, but it makes everything else on the road look dated in comparison, both interior and exterior.

That is not the new Corolla... I saw the new Corolla (on the road) oustide the Atlanta Toyota dealer today. It is the exact same as the UK Model... I am 100% sure because I was there just a few days ago. The front end has a slight Camry resemblance with the Toyota sign, but the rear lights are at the top of the back, not at the bottom.

The front is like this (of course not hatchback):

The back is like this (of course not hatchback):
http://www.barriecars.co.uk/images/C...d4d%20Rear.jpg

The difference is that the tail lights end midway

It looks really beautiful in person

Good finds, Mink!

That looks a little more contemporary, but it still is pretty conservative when compared the Civic. Since that is more like the Matrix version, I wonder how the hatch or sedan will be designed?

Apparently, the Corolla will be:

1) Also available as a 2 door coupe.

2) Sedan will have standard 2.0L engine with 150 hp at 6250 rpm / 146 torque at 4500 rpm.

3) Coupe will have optional 2.0L engine with 200 hp at 6250 rpm / 135 torque at 4000 rpm.

4) The auto transmission will be a CVT transmission.
