If I'm not mistaken they called it SST right. Also, I blieve it was a full manual with no auto option. All these clutchless manual transmission work well when you manually shift then. What makes others stand above the rest is how they perform in auto mode.

Once you've driven DSG you will be hooked.....you'll never want to go back to conventional SMT's again. The only question is how well it will hold up in service....most of them are so new that they don't have a lot of miles on them yet.
CVT's are even more efficient in some ways, but they give wierd driving sensations, less of a sense of control, and have questionable drive belt durability.
