Yes since it has more low end torque it will appeal to a more luxury oriented driver also if they dont mind waiting its only a few months until the GS460 goes on sale. Plus some people want the prestige of a V8 some dont.

They are probably going to discontinue the 430 when 350 arrives, and then launch 460

They have been selling the two side by side in Japan for the past year, here's their price list from lexus.jp. I can't read Japnese, but I think the RHS column is pre-tax ?
Notice that they also have a " L" version for the GS450h. I want to know what's the ratio in sales of these models in Japan . . .

Do you know the sales figures? Is the V8 doing o.k. or are the sales laughable?

I think it will work some people dont consider a car a Luxury car without a V8 and some people will choose the 430 just cause its the top of the line. Look at how many women you see who are not performance enthusiasts driving an M3 cause its the most expesive three series.

the v8 will still sell in japan, not as great but it will. reason being in japan, having big engine is a sign of luxury, just the way it is.

here in the US, it's not discontinued (and i don't think it will), but the gs430 has been a special order car only for a while already, i believe a bit before the gs450h was launched. that makes sense until the gs460 is here

and the gs450h version L, it's not lwb. there is no lwb gs. it's just special edition i believe

Yes it will, they have had a GS350 AWD in Japan since last year, no reason to think they won't make it available here.

You are right, "L version" doesn't mean "Long", otherwise, they probably would have just called it GS450hL

GS350 AWD, stick it directly in my veins!

GS350 is going to sell like hotcakes, now it has a lot of power for a V6 but with great mileage which people expect in this type of segment. GS460 will just be the topping on the cake, but 303 hp in a GS is going to be very plenty for most people
