Given the sales numbers of the GS430 currently in the US compared to the GS300, I can only, imagine that the GS350 wont help. Those that want the GS430 for the V8 will no doubt buy it as they already have, but my bet the GS350 will take a few buyers away and I see the GS430 sales numbers getting smaller until the GS460 is released.

I would still buy the GS430 and not the 350 remembr the engine is not the only difference the wheels are larger and there are a few features on the 430 the 350 doesnt have. Also it didnt mention wether or not there would be VDIM on the 350 so that another advantage. Plus it drives easier since it has more low end power. And dont forget AVS.

well in terms of power i don't see how the gs350 will lose. on paper the v8 has more tq, but having driven the is350 myself (while owning the gs400 and sc430), damn i think the is350 is faster than my cars stock to stock at all speed below 100.

anyway, i do think the gs350 will be a big seller, it's going to be nice for lexus

The GS350 on sale in Japan right now does not have VDIM, only the GS430 & GS450h have the VDIM

Did the GS350 get the larger brakes? I always felt is should at least match the brakes on the IS350 since power wise it is the same and weight is a little higher.

personally i think all gs (gs350, gs430, and later gs460) should have bigger brakes anyway. i haven't driven the gs300 myself, but i can see how bigger brakes are warranted

Have you ever driven an IS350 and GS430 back to back? Despite the V8 having more torque, the IS350's 2GR-FSE has plenty of power on tap to keep up since it's all mid range to high end power. Some may find the $8k premium to get a 290hp V8 with lesser MPG isn't worth the price.

The "L" Version is just an option package. Even the previous Altezza had an "L" option package.

I still think the GS430 will sell just fine i sill wouldnt mind having one its a great car. And we must all remember the additional features the GS430 has that the 300/350 Dont have.

I'm a bit rusty on the specs, I did look over http://lexus.com/models/gs/300rwd_specifications.html and what exactly are the additional features?
