Default German customizer puts an iMAC in MB CLS

German car customizer Mattes Interieurtechnik has created a customized Mercedes CLS with a nicely integrated iMac personal computer in the rear seats. The iMac's compact all-in-one design lends itself to such an installation, and the firm makes sure the integration is complete with slick leather covering around the machine. A wireless mouse and keyboard mean there are no exposed wires to contend with. Of course, the customized CLS also gets a completely revised interior, with some pretty fancy upholstery and trimmings.

As much as I love Macs, this looks a little awkward to me. The iMac right in the middle looks
like it would obstruct legroom. It would have been better if they positioned the screen behind
the passenger or driver seat.

it would be better to put it in S, E, or R classes and mount the screen on the back of the front seats like on Maybach

It's still a little stupid the way they position it. I like the interior though, but I sure don't want to be a backseat passenger in this car even without that screen. I've sat in the rear seats, & I sure can understand why they call it a 4 door coupe.

I like the idea... but I think the execution could have been better. That screen being right in the center kinda kills it. Plus, the person sitting in the back will be hot as all hell with the ac vents being blocked, and that hot computer running.

The iMac looks fine on a small desk - but mounted inside a car it looks terrible. It could be mounted in an Excursion and I'd still say it looks out of place.

F for effort and F for equipment selection.

It looks cheap because it doesnt look integrated in the car at all. They just covered it with matching leather and mounted it in the back. Granted there was more customizing to make it work but it doesnt look right

Man...that is one astonishing interior, definitely several classes above the LS600hL (and to think that's just the short-wheelbase version!! ). Sometimes you do get what you pay for. When's the L650h coming, Lexus?
