Interesting they would look really crazy in low profile series though. Imagine 20's with 30 series tweel tires

I think that's cool that Michelin are innovators rather than followers. Now they need to get with wheel manufacturers like, HRE,WORK,BBS,etc. and it's game on.

Since this " tire " doesn't hold any air, the military is very interested in it because of its obvious ability to take battle damage and keep going.

I wonder how temperature would affect ride quality, The members between the rim and Thread itself, wouldnt they harden in extreme temps, causing the ride to be rougher?

I've seen videos of them going to work on an Audi. Traction is increase as you corner because more rubber tread will be on the ground than conventional tires. Great ideas and will probably work well. I just can't see it on my car. lol. Though i question how they are going to give it enough strength for those high tor those high hp/tq applications

might be like the old nylon cord bias-ply tires - they were tough, but if you left them parked for several hours in cold weather, they became "Flintstones" - hard as a rock with one flat side. They drove like they were square for the first half-mile or so until they flexed enough to warm up.

That was common in the '70's - then the dinosaurs all died . . .

That's true of conventional air-filled rubber tires as well. Cold temps harden the rubber, stiffening up the ride and lessening its grip on dry pavement....though this is mitigated a little by slightly less air pressure in the tire at cold temps as well.

Interesting concept but ugly.

This isn't "new" either. It was posted here about 2 years ago.
