From my understanding Ron April of next year. Lexus has not set a specific date.

Already went thorugh this...here are the numbers. Bear in mind that the model year changover normally occurs in August - so BMWs tend to normally have a sales dip in the Aug-Sept timeframe (they can be very hard to come by). The last 545s were therefore made in July - if you ask me, they did just fine.

For 2005
May: 759
June: 808
July: 657
Aug: 544
Sept: 391 (plus 11 550s and 1 M5)
Oct: 117 (plus 320 550s and 362 M5s)

We don't have a hard date yet, maybe next April, but Lexus quit making GS430s a couple of months ago? That doesn't make sense. If GS430 sales are down because there is no supply I don't understand how Toyota/Lexus could have quit making them ten months (or so) before the replacement comes out? I wonder how accurate next April is? Maybe the 450h has Lexus in no hurry to bring the 460 out. Then again, maybe it is pretty accurate but the IS, RX, and ES all got the 350 well before the GS did. Thanks for the info though. I keep seeing references to the GS 460 like it is very close.

Not that it was a bad car ( it wasn't ) but IMO it was clearly not the equal of its predecessor, the ES330, which was a superb machine. The new 350 had a little more power and the usual awesome Lexus paint job, and it also retained the noise isolation of the previous car but also, IMO, had a lot of shortcomings compared to the 330. The quality of the interior hardware and materials seemed a step below the 330, there was much less wood trim ( perhaps in an effort to cut costs ), there were noticeable creaks and rattles( though minor ), and ride comfort was noticeably off that of the 330 because of the new lower-profile 55-series tires.

So if you like the car, Dave, fine......buy it and enjoy it. I'm with och, though..it didn't impress me.
Well I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that each generation of the ES (Starting with the 300) has gone down in "feel". My brother in-law has a 1994 ES300 - it is a tank. When the next gen came out, he was blown away by the "cheapness" of the car.

Let's be honest here, there are a LOT more features and room in each new ES. But Toyota has to watch the weight and therefore something has to give. I don't think it is fair to say this happens only with Lexus - however it might be more noticeable with Lexus. My wife's 2000 RX300 felt much more "solid" than the RX330, and once again, more features+holding the cost=a cheaper feeling car. Just my 2cents.

PS - I will admit that the ES350 is one great looking car....
