A big +1. But there has and never will be any "utility" in the X5. More like "activity".

I'd rock it.

But now not only would I be frustrated with the iDrive, but the shifter will further induce Carpal Tunnel Syndrome...

Good looking. But I don't like the razor style shifter.

That is one great looking truck I must say the interior looks great for a BMW as most of the ones as of late are not that pretty. By the way there's a third row in that thing how'd they fit it?

I love it. The current X5 is a beauty and they did not mess it up. The materials inside look top-notch. I love it. The shifter looked like crap in the spy pics, but looks alright here.

For a "Company of Ideas," I was expecting something more original than a smoothened-up last-gen X5 with X3 cues. That said, I'd still drive it simply cuz it DOES look like an old school BMW.

That's a good thing.........more patients for you phil

I agree that it looks like a bigger x3 due to the way how the sides of the front bumper sort of bulges out. I didn't read the whole schpeal but how are they going to cram a third row in there??????

I just hate the black bumper in the front. They remove it from the X3 and give it to the X5. That makes no sense. I think BMW did that on purpose so they can change it to the color of the car during the mid-cycle refresh.

Here are the pics of the 3rd row and of the cargo space with 2nd and 3rd row seats folded, in case anyone is wondering:

RSES:

Tan interior, much better looking than the ivory one IMHO:

Overall I give it a BIG .

Lexus's got some serious competition here IMO.

Agreed. And BMW has done a tremendous job upgrading their tech from gen to gen - that's where others tend to lag behind.

Add in the high configurability of their cars and BMW's relative reliability compared to MB and other German makes and BMW really starts to shine.
