I think a lot of BMW drivers need help. They think they are the only ones who know about cars and driving, and have to look down on other brands, especially Lexus. They think they are all that, and will "sleep with" their bimmers if they can.

E90 is an awesome car but I also think IS350 is equally great. And also, I love hearing 325i owners on E90 post saying how they smoked 350z and IS350s. LOL.
Welcome to Clublexus btw.

Its a great forum though. Most people are nice in general.
Just a little fanboy-ism going on, but that goes for any other car forum in my opinion.
but sometimes.. even myself being a bmw owner, I can't stand some of the stuff between BMW owners.
Thanks for the welcome!

Well I personally think that Lexus would love to have the driving dynamics of BMW.
That said, in no way does Lexus "copy" BMW. They do their own thing and they do it in their own way. Their cars do not look (or drive) like BMWs and I believe thiat most Lexus buyers prefer it this way.

I think Lexus's design direction has moved away from blatant
copying of other cars.
One thing I used to hate about my 2GS was that it was too
similar to the Benz E class. OK, the 3GS can be confused with
some Nissan vehicles, but I think that was an unfortunate
coincidence
In no way does it look like a 5 series like
one of the posters in that forum mentioned
copying of other cars.

My personal take on this is that Lexus really does not copy BMW.
But it does copy mercedes quiet a bit. Include the vehicle dynamics. When I drove the new GS, it instantly remind me the W211 that i was driving at the time.
The LS has been a very good copy of the S-class. There really isn't anything speical out there. Lexus is great in their quality. But they are simply not that original.

People will always say Lexus copies, I've learned to accept that and I am fine with it.

I think we have had a ton of posts over in our RX forums about how companie have ripped RX300 designs over the years. Basically, everyone does and nobody does it. In the end it does not matter. If you like your vehicle, then enjoy it.
BTW, I once had a BMW and still love those vehicles.

Anyone who knows about cars understand that all car companies borrow
each other's ideas. Are some companies more original than others? Yes.
To say that Lexus does not innovate and only copies BMW in ideas shows
how how limited one's knowledge of automobile history regardless of brands.
Sure the new Camry has the Bangle butt and the new LS has some similar
lines of the 7 series, but this is just a natural progress of car design.
BMW builds great cars and you won't have any car enthusiats on this forum
argue that. I guess we just have a more mature group of enthusiasts here.

Each major manufacturer is definately establishing their own style now. Where in the past you may have seen similar styles on both cars, as the years have progressed, we can see distinct differences that make Lexus and BMW different such as headlights / reliability..lol /
everyone manufacturer is going to copy the latest trend designs, all depends who comes out first with the most innovative designs.
