Damn your accident is just 3 weeks after mine. Glade to see you come out alive and well with a big fat check!

Talking I'm still around

Wow, I guess I haven't gone back to my thread in a LONG while, right?

It's nice to know that long-time, seasoned and new members have popped in and put their faithful $.02 in regard to the demise of my ES. As you can tell I'm already way over it from the accident, and I've put in plenty of mod time and R&R on the G35. I think the G35's build quality is somewhat less than that of the Lexus GS class, but the power/acceleration/performance is without question phenomenal. It rivals that of the new GS and BMW 5-series, and comes at a cheaper price tag than those cars. The line of aftermarket mods for the G35 is very available as you can see from my sig, and I'm not quite done yet

I could go on and on talking about the G35, but I just wanted to let you all know I'm doing well and am still here checking and moderating the ES forum as always. In the near future, I'm considering revising the DIY stickied thread for the ES to a more structured, easy-to-find look. As always guys and gals, I'm open to all kinds of suggestions, questions and comments with regard to the ES forum (please PM me).

And just to give you a feel of what my G35 looks like now is, here are a few recent pics:

The G35 is cheaper because it's a different class of car. G35 is in line with the IS and 3 series.
Much sportier replacement for the ES.

Great to hear that you're doing fine. Doesn't the Infiniti M35/M45 rival the GS 350/GS 460? The G35 rivals the IS 350...If Infiniti still had the I35 that would rival the ES 350...

Yes the M is more a rival to the GS.

Congragulations. Nice car. The G35 rivals the BMW 335i in some ways, without the BMW's higher price tag, but nothing has the steering and chassis dynamics of a Bimmer.

Thats Brand Loyalty. The car treats you go, saves your life, gets you almost a 100% refund from insurance so you go buy a different brand.

Perhaps Lexus could come to your house and make you a sandwich to earn your business???

You bumped a 3.5 year thread for that? o_o lol

Anyway, why does it matter what car he bought. Who says you should buy the same brand if you get into an accident and walk away. There's so many factors that probably went into OP choosing the car he did. For all you know, he tried to find a good Lexus in his price range and couldn't or just wanted to try something new..

Doug is a great guy but I feel your point. We have replaced vehicles that were totaled with identical models, even non-Lexus as we were appreciative of how the vehicle saved a life/injuries.

Accidents are tough situations as many of us know.

So if you buy a brand of car, and it treats you well, does that mean that there is some moral code dictating that it's wrong to buy another brand? Does the OP of this really old thread that you are trolling have any obligation to Toyota Motors?

I grew up around american brand vehicles. Have generally been very loyal to Ford, GM, and Chrysler. I decided to try something new and bought a Lexus. Does that mean I turned my back on the Big 3? No. I recognize that their vehicles have treated us VERY VERY well, and I will definitely by from them again in the future. That doesn't make it wrong to try something else.
