I agree with both points.

As a try at answering your second question: Unfortunately the best I can come up with is that this is code-speak for raising the income as well. They see it as an executive sedan and, unfortunately, executives means mainly male. But that wouldn't be very PC to say so you just mention two things that are linked indicators.

Lexus may have mis-forcasted LWD sales, like how this mis-forcasted IS 350 sales (250/350 ratio). 350 demand is I think 10 percentage points higher than they thought, if not more.

Mr. Johnson is correct, the more $$$, it will be more and more likely a male.
