Max707, no offense, but the NSX and Skyline are pretty much the pinnacle of Japanese consumer sports car development. When you match those up against the germans (BMW Ms, Porsches, SL/SLKs) I don't really think you can seriously compare them. 350Zs handle like an american muscle car, and the rear ends are dangerously sloppy. ... and find your own freaks

Thanks, I love the way the M looks. My 330 is nice but I don't think that the new M3 will have the same aggressive look of the current one. I agree with you on the BMW ownership part and thought that was probably a large part of that. I know a number of BMW owners who have kept their cars for signficant periods of time and the cars look as good as new. I can't say the same for Lexus owners, I too think that those tend to switch owners more often.

speaking of german reliability, last night I had a dream that I was in a VW jetta or some sort, and I couldn't roll down the windows because the window regulator was broken

My friends 87' BMW 325is has all original parts and absolutely everything still works in his car including the windows. In contrast my other friend has an 89' Corolla and his two front windows dont work and neither does his AC. Go figure.
